RETRO

Editorial

A breath of fresh air: Retro

Hello, folks. Here we are. From now on, me and my writers who don't breathe will be bringing you the month's news the 'slightly old' way.

Why 'Retro'?

Are you sick of publications stuffed with hidden ads, tracking codes and pieces written with all sorts of agendas? I personally am. Hence, retro. Don't let the name fool you: I'm not going to introduce you to Commodore products that have been reviewed a million times over. Here we'll bring you current products in an 'old' style. Our editorial principle is this: if the grand old oaks of the past like 64'ler, Amiga Dünyası and Laneth were still in print today, what would they look like? We'll try to answer that. Our motto: take a look at the new through the lens of the past.

What will be in Retro?

Whatever our old magazines had. Game reviews, album reviews, books, TV series, news, opinion and so on. Because of my profession and my interests, you might see more programming and AI pieces than you would in a normal magazine, so brace yourselves.

What won't be in Retro?

Ads of any kind, adverts, commissioned pieces, politics, sports. I think we've been drowned in those last two enough already, so you can think of this place as a kind of escape. Now and then there may be some general grumbling about the overall political state of the world.

What's Retro's publishing schedule?

For now I'm thinking monthly, but there's also the idea of putting pieces out during the month and compiling them into an issue at the end of the month. Keep your RSS readers handy.

Retro is out. Accept no substitutes at your local newsstand.
